Why is it that when doing laundry, the only piece of clothing to ever fall on the floor while making the transfer from washer to dryer, is underwear?
I have decided that all those people that bought my kids loud, obnoxious toys because they either hate me, or thought they were being funny are, in fact, not so bad. Here is why: Those toys have NOTHING on a certain DVD. I won't mention the name because it might just be wrapped up in a nice fat bow for your kid's next birthday, or even better - when your walking around Target and you see it looking all cute you might even dig your own grave and buy the unsuspecting DVD for your own kid. But I tell you this, that DVD has made me cry tears of joy everytime one of my kids starts pushing buttons on that damn ABC snail....
And also, my littlest bundles of joy have figured out how to get me to bust ass around the house.....Nothing is more annoying to me that when they are "helping" me but doing the exact opposite.
I mean, it is cute when B helps put laundry in the dryer. He knows what he is doing, and does it. It is cute when B sets the table, and on and on. I can't throw Harlee in the mix because she is less than helpful with all things......
But I notice lately that nothing motivates me to load and unload the dishwasher in 45 seconds like seeing Harlee crawling at the speed of light towards it.......And likewise, I can fold an entire basket of laundry if I hear him start coming down the hall, in about 24 seconds.

Trash can dilema
Can someone please explain to me, the kids bathroom trash can?
So big - so not full - so why all the trash on the floor?
I ask you this - If you use a tissue and are going to move towards the trash can to toss it, why wouldn't you actually toss it inTO the trash rather than next to it?
Also, if you are going to use up all the shampoo, and are going to take the time to remove it from the shower, and set it on the counter, why not just set it in the trash can?
Consequently, I have now taken to going into their bathroom with a Sharpee marker, and writing names onto the assorted items in there, to designate who's responsibility it is to throw it away.
Because amazingly, no one ever did it...................

Brodys New Haircut
My mom asked me to post a picture of his new hair cut, so I got right on it....here it is!
Just kidding. This time I actually sat down to post it, and now the camera won't transfer the pictures into my computer. The camera works fine, but I plug it in like normal, and the camera goes black. I can hear it making beeping noises when push buttons, but nothing else happens.
I will just add that to my list of things to do....and I am so glad really, because I was actually getting to the point where my list actually fit on one page! BTW, if you are reading this and have a clue what I can do to fix it, please please comment or email me....
The good news is by not seeing the haircut, your really not missing much....
His position is still "I want my hair back so I can lift it up and spin it around" And I will just leave my position out of it, but he is growing his hair back immediately.

I am getting old
When I was younger, my idea of punk rock was music related. Now it is letting my 3 year old play with play-doh on the dining room table with only 1 placemat.

Quick update
There is just no time.
I put "update blog" on my to-do list. And being it has been weeks since I have gotten around to it, that should tell you I am to busy, or don't care enough to spend 15 minutes of energy into it. Either way, ironically, as I sat down to type this post, I realize my camera is dead. I guess part of teaching Brody to take a picture, is teaching him to turn the camera off......(BTW - he is pretty good. Now If I could get Harlee on the same page, I might actually get some pictures of myself with the kids)
So now I have a half ass update: Words - no pics. B.o.r.i.n.g.
Mike has been working all kinds of side jobs, which is good because: Breaking news: the economy sucks. But this also means I get to do his jobs around here...like picking Jesse up from football practice from 5:30 to 6:30. Right when I am usually home cooking dinner and getting the kids bathed and in bed...so this causes a little nighttime cluster.
I was down to a good science for awhile....dinner at 6, J's cleanup kitchen while I put H down. I clean the kitchen, put B in bed with "Mighty Machines" movie - yes I suck, but I need him out of my mix while I do school....
Regardless, we make it work, and I am grateful so many people have plumbing issues.
Jesse is doing fantastic at football. Mike was really impressed with him at the Mater Dae game, but knowing Jesse as we do..that could have been a fluke..but he played in the last 2 games just as well. They have won all but 1 game, so this season is turning well so far.
Janee has straight A's.
I might cry while typing this - I shaved Brody's head. Here is me - The hairdresser - staring at my kids white blond pretty hair all day pissed of and annoyed that there is 1 chop mark in the back - WHICH honestly is pretty damn good considering the kid won't sit still to sleep...But that 1 little chop mark (that no one else could see) DROVE ME NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I thought - hey, my kid is the cutest damn kid in the world......he can totally pull off a shaved head, it will take me 3 minutes to do, it will be even, then it will grow out evenlyy. I stick the razor on his head and I swear I got tear. I purposely shaved his bang area first knowing I couldn't go back.
Now, he just looks like any random annoying kid at the park. I HATE it. And so does he because now he can't "Lift it up!" " I want to lift my hair up mom"
He misses twirling his hair - where does he get that from?
Harlee says mamamamamama now. She looks at me while saying it so I know she knows what she means. She walks pushing her baby stroller. When I say walks, I don't mean like she is strutting down the cat walk. I mean walk like the stroller starts to move and she has no idea what to do so she panics and flails her legs and happens to put on foot in front of the other. But, nevertheless, she is walking. And she will do this across the entire house.....

Believe it or not
I have been actually trying to update this and can't come up with anything to say. Lots of mildy irritating situations have come up often lately, but to type them all bores me....
This to shall pass:
After Jesse gets a Saturday school at our request, Harlee starts to sleep again, B's 5 staph infection heal, Mike is done with his side job, Janee decides that she actually can put the brain in her head to use (Or just decides it is not cute to play "dumb" anymore - Hmmmwhere does she get that from??? Can't imagine..), and I finish this school.
The computer tells me that if I put in 56.8 hours per week, I can finish by the date I am supposed to finish. That is funny. 56.8 hours? I WISH I had that kid of time laying around just for 1 week....let alone 6....which by the way, I might actually be able to come up with some extra time in the mornings like I used to between 4 - 6 am but H thinks it is morning time at 4:30 am..........
But on a lighter note, Jesse's second football game is today against Mater Dei. And what is even better is Janee is taking a friend so that frees up 2 hours of my day from her endless questions that don't need to be asked. For example, asked to me while wearing a gray sweater "Oh, your wearing a gray sweater?"
Well, being it is 6:23, it is time for my 4th cup of coffee and off to work on school for 2 minutes until my kid crawls in here and hangs all over my desk chair and then gets pissed when I accidentally roll over her toe!

33
My new age.
Happy birthday to me or so I thought were the words my dad was going to tell me when he called me at 7am. However, instead what came out was "Tom just got rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest. His daughter found him this morning. He wasn't breathing. We don't know how he is, but it doesn't sound good"
Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to Christy, Happy birthday to me.
Tom: My "boss" of 6 years. Sort of in a round about way, got Mike and I together...or at least answered all of the inquiries Mike made to him about me correctly.
Never showed up to company functions or friendly functions. But showed up to my wedding. And it was mentioned to me more than once "I can't believe Toms is coming to your wedding!" " I can't believe Tom is here"
He sat in the back and was the first person I saw while nervously about to make the turn down the aisle. He gave me a big smile and knowing he was uncomfortable being at my wedding because he hates that sort of thing and yet was there, smiling at me, somehow made me more comfortable at my wedding which I think I would have been more comfortable at, had I been in Vegas getting married by Elvis.
And I will always be grateful to him for that smile...And all of the other ones he caused me to have at work every day for 6 years.
When it came time that I had to pass my job on to someone else, I trained my replacement....his future daughter in law.
So, the way I spent the last 11 years of my life, and true to construction form, I am going to get my groggy ass up at 4:15 am, handle some crap around here, get ready to go, and fight ridiculous traffic with my coffee, in a ridiculous 2 1/2 hour commute, making sure to curse in my head to at least one other driver...to say goodbye...and then upon arriving home, crack open a Coors Light, and say Cheers!
