Totally Exhausted

This is it! H is 5 months 1 week old....and I am done messing around with this sleeping nonsense.

4 days in a row she has freaked out at various hours of the night....I have tried to feed her - she wants no part of it and falls asleep in my arms. I don't think so.

That habit is a nice try on her part, but I won't be playing any part of that.

So, on to plan 17...

1) We know she can fall asleep on her own because she does it initially every single night.

2) We know she does not need to eat from the hours of bedtime - 7:30pm until 5am

3) She has woken up for good consistently at 5am for the last week (Never mind the other times in between.......at this point 5am is great!)

So - tonight...I turn the monitor off, and set my alarm for 5am....and whatever goes on between when I sleep and 5am is all on her. She will be crying it out...the end.

I am not sure what else to do about it....she doesn't want anything she NEEDS to have...she wants her belly rubbed....she wants me to turn her music back on...she wants a pacifier...she wants me to hold her....But none of these are things she NEEDS nor things that are good for her in the middle of the night...

But seriously....at 5 months there is no reason for her to be up at 2, 3:30, 4:15 and 5am.....

This weekend was the big Cinco De Mayo soccer tournament in Riverside at some sports complex with 24 soccer fields.....HUGE!

The girls have a pretty decent team so we had reasonable hope....the first game the other team scored 4 goals in about 10 minutes.....score 4-0 other team. The second game the other team scored 2 goals in about 15 minutes and beat our team down - legally. I think all of our girls ended up being thrown on the ground at least twice.....and they were not fighting back! And since it was done legally, no penalties were called. Meanwhile one of our girls got a cleat in the eyelid (not on purpose), one got smacked in the head by a ball flying at her face from about 2 feet away, one got thrown on the ground and had to be pulled out because she had some sort of issue ending in pain. Amongst others.....Today's game was a better match...they only lost 1-0.

Ass you can imagine, Janee today was someone you really didn't want to be around....If only she used that kind of anger during the game....

So, we will see how this spring season shapes up. Here's to hoping it turns out better otherwise I am not sure anyone will want to be around Janee again. :)

Ugh. Sleep issues. Mine can totally sleep 7:30-6:30, but they choose not to. WTF. Let me know how CIO goes.

Ugh, the main issue I have had with my kids, is lack of sleep. I have read EVERY sleep book out there and tried every method known to man.
The one that worked best came from good night sleep tight by Kim West. I started Wyatt on it at 4 months. Basically you watch for their sleep cues (make sure they are sleepy) put them down, stay with them until the fall asleep but don't touch them. So they know you are there but can see that you aren't going to get them out. This helped me more than the cry it out method because I could see that he wasn't in real distress he was just being a butthead about falling asleep. I ended up putting a mobile type thingy in there for him to watch, it's an aquarium, that plays music. Anyway then after he woke up in the night I would just go in and pat him and tell him to go back to sleep and turn on his aquarium, he still woke up a few times but then decided it wasn't worth it and learned to turn his aquarium on himself. I know how it is when you are so sleep deprived you want to throw the baby out the window so do what you have to to catch up on sleep and then do some sleep training. I seriously think someone should start a night nurse profession, I would hire one as soon as I had kids till they were at least 2! Good luck. Also the swing worked wonders for naps...
