Baby toys are such a rip off. Which makes me mad because how do you know ahead of time if your kid will hate it or not? But one thing that makes me most irritated are those floor mats. Seriously? $60.00? I think not...
But because my husband is a plumber......
And I can interchange the toys with ones she already has and change the length.
Mike has been working his butt off around here trying to finish up some BS before he goes back to WORK! Yes, he got a job. he goes off disability on the 15th, and starts work on the 17th. How is that for timing? He will know mroe details about where he will be working this week but it is looking like UCLA. Nice way to get thrown back into a work commute. But we will take it!
Anyway, one of the things we have been trying to get done is hanging to TV on a wall to rearrange the living room. This would create more floor space across the room which we can use for all of H's crap....like her excersaucer and other HUGE toys that take up way to much room for someone as small as she is.
So, here is what we did with some paint and a few 2 x 6's. It serves the purpose, and all the cords and wires are hidden behind the wood in the wall. Once I get the rest of the room rearranged I will post some pictures of the whole space.
My plan for letting H cry it out has been working to fabulously. The first night, she woke up at 10:45pm first. What?!?!? She hasnt done that since she was about 1 month old!! But I ignored her (not hard), she cried for about 10 minutes, then fell to sleep not to be heard from again till 5am.
Night two, she woke up 3 separate times, each time screaming VERY loudly for abotu 5 minutes each, then falling asleep...up for good at 5am.
Night 3, woke up 2 times....
Night 4 Once
Now, I dont hear a peep at all. This has been about a week so....I have semi-high hopes.
B finally sat on the potty. In clothes. And for abotu 2 seconds. But at least he sat on it rather than screaming bloody murder and crying.....I don't think we are anywhere near potty training yet...but this was a huge milestone for him...so, as promised, Mike bought him an ice cream cone.
And of course because today is mother's day - Yesterday we took a trip to the OC Marketplace....Which was not relaxing. M is always on a mission regardless of where we are...so rather than wandering around. It was like lets go here. Now there. Okay, done. In and out in 2 hours. Since we were in OC and were planning on being at my mom's house for dinner that night, we decided to drive down PCH stopping to take the ferry across balboa bay. B's first boat ride.
Baking Mother's Day cookie bars - actually eating dough....
We ended up at mommy's house for a BBQ with my old neighbors who are soon moving up north...
Nothing much going on today - Mike isn't big on Mother's day. He thinks it is a Hallmark Holiday so he told me today I should put my feet up and relax and he will do everything around the house and take care of the kids for me....I am sure, if you know Mike, you can imagine how this is turning out......Regardless, the kids picked out some flowers for me and Mike did get me a little something - and none of the kids have gotten into a fight yet, so Happy Mother's day to me!

Congrats to Mike!!!
And I hear 3 nights of CIO is all it really takes... I think you're golden. And we might be close behind you in doing that because I know they can make it. They have done it before...
Happy Mother's Day!
