Weekend

The weekend was actually eventful. Friday night we had an impromtu BBQ with a girlfriend of mine. She lives in south OC and began dating a guy who lives in Temecula who happens to have a daughter about Janee's age. My girlfriend has a 4 year old son, so the kids work out fairly well together. Minus a few nonsensical fights and tantrums and drama over tricycles...but what else can be expected?

Saturday afternoon we spent at J & D's place for some hotdogs and some conversation - and some Jack Daniels for the boys. The girls were able to spend some time staring at each other cluelessly...P got her 6 month pictures taken while we were there so of course Harlee had to start having a loud meltdown. Surprisingly, at 6:30 pm, I set her in the house in her Pack and play and she fell asleep immediatley - in a strange to her house, in the daylight, using a borrowed seahorse sound machine running out of batterys and playing music accordingly. Go figure!

Sunday morning, Mike found me and said "Hey! Why dont you paint the dining room today?" This was totally out of the blue. Since we are broke, he suggested I use paint from the shed. So, I choose the laundry room color and it actually looks pretty fantastic. Mike has been putting up trim the last few days which we had stored from earlier projects, so the total cost for this "remodel" = nothing.
