I love insurance.
And there tactics of business. I swear they try to confuse the fuck out of you and redirect you till you get so frustrated, you give up and pay.
I booked my appt for genetic testing which was Yesterday, about 2 weeks ago, and of course on Monday the insurance issues begin. (With not even enough time between that and my appt. to even being to straighten anything out).
I wont even begin to get into the BS but what I will say is that insurance does not cover (supposedly) genetic testing.
Turns out it is an exclusion.
Seriously??
So they would rather not pay the $360.00 for the test at a discounted rate....but instead pay for my possibly disabled childs medical issues for life?
that makes no sense!
Regardless, Mike wanted the testing done, so we paid out of pocket while we bicker with insurance.
We are at low risk. No family histories, ect. but it is still comforting ot have a confirmation. So, we get the results back soon. They dont give you a def. yes or no, it just asseses your risk so you know if you should do further testing.
While I am on the issue of insurance....
I have a deductible for the year....this covers all Dr. visits, the C-section, the hospital stay, ect....but you know what insurance excludes? Routine newborn. What is this you ask? This is only what they do to the baby immediatley after it is born. i.e. cleaning it, cutting cord, ect. How much bullshit is that?!!?!?!?!
Whatever.....What do you do about it?
I also would like to comment that baby X is similar to B in the womb...B never moved. I never felt him kick or move. This one during the u/s yesterday just sat there. She would poke it, and you could see her doing that on the u/s and it would kick 2 or 3 times and then go back to sleep...She was trying to measure the back of its neck for about 15 minutes while it sat there still. Stubborn!!
So, up until yesterday I was convinved I was having a girl only because of the way I feel. (like shit)...but now I am not so sure...I should probably start thinking of boy names as well...........
